Contract Flooring & Interiors Completes Major “Green” Building Renovation in Revitalized Neighborhood

Contract Flooring & Interiors has recently completed a major sustainable interior and exterior renovation of a building previously owned and operated by a local printing company on the corner of Southeast 8^th and Hawthorne. 

The renovation project included a total green remodel of the showroom exposing beautiful wooden ceiling beams previously hidden by an artificial ceiling.  Almost all of the debris created from the tear-out was recycled and CF&I worked with local artisans to source materials that are in line with energy efficiency, day light harvesting and renewable materials. For example, the reception desk in the beautiful new showroom now functions as another layer in creating sustainable dialogue.

The Hawthorne business district has been undergoing major revitalization and is considered an up and coming viable neighborhood. According to historical city directories, this building was originally built in 1924 as a used car sales facility (60 car capacity). Additional past occupants of the building include various financing companies, insurance agents as well as printing shops before being occupied by CF&I.
